On The Move

Oh how I miss those crawling days!  Now little Miss Mallory is into everything!  Anything on the table, the computer desk, the first few shelves of the entertainment center...she's reaching and grabbing it!  But...gotta admit I love watching her waddle!  She still has that cute "I'm still learning to walk" waddle even though she's been walking about a month and half now.

Anyway, here is a layout I just finished of her during her crawling days.  This picture was taken at the park here in town and she had a blast!  She wasn't very interested in any of the playground equipment...she just wanted to crawl everywhere!  She loves being outside in wide open spaces!

To create this layout, I used MandaBean's freebie add-on called Petapalooza.  This is the first time using one of her creations and I love it!  Very nice quality and great colors!  If you tried any of her stuff yet, you should have a look at this freebie!  It is located at www.digiscrappin.biz.

My hot fireman!

Just finished this layout of my hubby.  I probably normally wouldn't use these colors on a layout of Shane but I needed to create something with this kit & I couldn't find any pics of us together.  The kit has a love/romance theme...so this pic was the best I could do.

This kit is a free download at www.addictedtodigital.com.  The download can be found in the Gallery.  You will be given the password to unzip the kit at ATD's Grand Opening Crop on Aug. 8th.  Here is what the kit looks like:

Can't seem to get moving...

I don't know what is wrong with me today.  I am just moving soooo slow!  I don't feel like getting dressed.  Maybe I should hop in the shower and run the cold water on myself.  Maybe that would wake my butt up.  But I just don't feel like it.  I have things I need to do so I am going to have to force myself to get moving.  We are low on groceries and Lindsey is nagging me about buying school supplies.  School doesn't start for 2 more weeks but she is determined to get those supplies TODAY.  Not sure what the hurry is...I was never in a hurry to do anything related to school.  LOL  A big difference between my daughter and myself.  A difference I'm so proud of!  She loves school.  On a different note, Digiscrapdivas.com is down due to a server move.  Evidently the site has outgrown it's server so Kathy had to find it a new server home.  I had thought that site would be back up and running this morning but it's taking a bit longer than I thought it would.  Strange how attached I've become to that site in such a short period of time.  It is the first place I go to when I sit down in my chair at the computer.  It's one of the few places online where I don't feel invisible to all the other members.  So glad I stumbled upon it!  :)  Speaking of stumbling upon places...I found a pretty interesting blog last night.  I'm sure most scrapping bloggers know of Scrapability, but I'm still pretty new to the this whole blogging thing.  I really enjoyed reading her stuff and looking around.  It doesn't seem to be your traditional scrapping blog...it's loaded with info!  She seems to blog quite a bit...and it's not all just about her life.  She has tons of great info for the scrapping community.  What I really like is she has opinions.  Anyway...if you haven't had a look at her blog yet, you should swing by!  As for me...I'm going to light a fire under my butt!  See ya!

A letter to my baby!

I just finished this layout today.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  When I started the layout, I didn't plan on doing any type of journaling.  But looking at this beautiful picture of my little baby just sort of brought it out of me.

The journaling reads:
My sweet little Mallory... If only every child in the world could be as loved and cherished as you are. If only every parent could feel the same amount of appreciation as I do. They say everything happens for a reason...if this is true then I am so thankful for the cancer that invaded my body. I say this because it was after my cancer treatments that I was finally able to get pregnant. So after living through the worst year of my life, I was rewarded with you! And what better reward could there be? NONE! Your father and I dreamed of you for many years and now here you are. I guess dreams really do come true! Love, Mommy

Mother-In-Law...

Lately my mother-in-law has been pretty darn helpful in our lives.  We have had a few financial problems that she has helped us through and I'm very appreciative of her for that.  But there are also times that she just doesn't think of other people's feelings. It has been an ongoing problem...she steps on my toes when it comes to giving gifts to those that I love.  For example, about 8 out 10 Chistmas' she finds out what I am getting for my hubby and she gets him the very thing and tells me that I no longer have to worry about buying that for him cause she already did it.  The first few years I was crushed by her doing this but now I almost expect it.  Anyway, what makes me bring this little problem up today is yesterday she took my 10 year old daughter miniature golfing.  When they come back home, my daughter is all giddy telling me that grandma bought her some bras.  I was instantly irratated.  Buying a young girl her first bra is the mother's job.  It is something that I should do and something I want to do.  But I can no longer buy her that "first bra" cause grandma already did it.  I didn't want to be the one that she shows the bra to, I wanted to be the one who helps her pick it out.  Anyway, just wanted to express some of my sadness over this little thing.  I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but to me it is.

Been pretty busy!

Since I was asked to join the Digiscrapdivas Creative Team...I've been pretty busy.  I've been having so much fun helping out here and there on the Digiscrapdivas forum and can't wait to see that place grow.  It already is growing!  It is so cool that I am getting to see it all from the beginning!  I've also been busy playing with little dolls in Photoshop Elements.  I've found some tutorials on how to make different parts on a doll and I am having so much fun making them!  I've already made 3 of them for myself and one for Kathy.  But I have to slow down on those cause they are sucking up so much of my time!  Hours and hours I spend sitting at my computer moving a pixel here and erasing a pixel there.  But I do love the end result!

My poor little Mally has had a pretty difficult week so far.  She had her 12 month check up and shots on Monday...as expected it was torture!  But afterwards at home she was doing okay until the middle of the night she came down with a high fever.  She stayed at 102 degrees all day Tuesday and part of Wednesday.  Then just when she is feeling better and past the yucky fever, she falls and chips her tooth.  Luckily no real damage was done but she now has a gray spot on the back of the tooth that she chipped.  The dentist said this is normal.  Poor little girl...at least it doesn't seem to bother her.  I am really going to have to watch her like a hawk because she seems to have little to no fear of heights.  She tries to climb on everything!  Her favorite activity is going up and down the stairs!  She could spend hours doing just that.  LOL

Well...I am going to try to get a digital layout done while the baby is napping and the hubby is at his monthly fire dept. meeting.

Changes...

I made a few changes to my blog last night.  I made a new header graphic...not sure if I like it.  Will probably change it again once I've been more thought into exactly what I want.  I also added blinkies to the digital scrapping design teams that I'm on.  There are many more changes that I want to make...I will probably do a little at a time until I have everything looking just the way I want.  I will have to change one of the design team blinkies on the side because last night Kathy at www.digiscrapdivas.com made me a personalized CTM blinkie!  It has my name and everything on it!!!  It is very cool and I will display it with pride!  ;)

Today is not going to be a very fun day.  We are all functioning on very little sleep.  We had severe thunderstorms last night.  My 10 old has a serious fear when it comes to storms.  She gets very upset if it even rains.  And last night brought some nasty storms...so the girls and I got very little sleep.  In fact, I may try to get the baby to lay down in a bit so we can both get a nap in.  Then later this afternoon, I have to take Mallory in for her 1 year check up and immunizations.  Fun fun!  NOT!  But because of all the rain we got last night, the hubby isn't working today so he gets to experience shot day with us.  Lucky him, huh?  LOL

What a wonderful week it's been!

This has been the best digital scrapping week that I've ever had!  I've cranked out quite a few layouts and that always feels good!  But that's not entirely why it's been such a great week.  Earlier this week I got an e-mail from Cantata Books letting me know that they are interested in publishing one of my layouts in an upcoming Vacation scrapping book in association with Eastman Kodak!  How cool is that?  This is the first time I will have been published...hopefully not the last!  I don't know when the book is coming out or anything, but when I find out I will be sure to tell the whole world!  LOL  Then this morning the owner a very new and very cool digital scrapping website, www.digiscrapdivas.com, asked me to be a member of her Creative Team!  I am so excited about this opportunity!  It is going to be so much fun.  I already love just being a part of this community but knowing that I am going to be on the Creative Team is just too cool!!!  She has some really talented scrappers on her team so far, so I'm really going to have to work on my techniques so I can feel like I'm in the same league as they are.  This is really going to be a huge thing...that is so obvious to me because Kathy (the site owner) has so many awesome plans for this community!!!  You should definately go check it out if you haven't done so already!
